Scientific conference “VAT taxation of communes”

On November 8, 2022, a scientific conference “Vat taxation of communes” will be held in Warsaw, under the patronage of IFA Poland. The event is organized by the Division of Financial and Tax Law and Vat Research Center of Kozminski University in Warsaw.

Prof. Krzysztof Lasiński-Sulecki, member of the Board of Directors of IFA Poland, will speak at the panel discussion.

The event will be divided into 4 panel discussions.

The first panel will address issues of the commune as a taxpayer of goods and services tax in light of the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union and the Supreme Administrative Court of Poland.

The second one will see experts discuss the centralization of the commune's accounts. The third panel will cover the so-called pre-coefficient for input VAT deduction.

The conference will conclude with the fourth panel devoted to the activities of VAT-exempt communes in light of the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union and the Supreme Administrative Court of Poland.

According to the organizers, the conference will enable creating a platform for discussing the most important issues concerning VAT taxation of communes, while the conclusions can be used both in national VAT legislation and in the practice of tax administration.

The conference will be held in a hybrid system:

  •  in the stationary form - at the campus of ALK
  • on-line on ZOOM.
